We get asked a lot about the stock situation on new vehicles. Everyone knows this has been a worldwide nightmare for the last couple of years and is not getting too much better as manufacturers struggle to meet demand.
We have plenty Ford Customs available a few LWB, lots of SWB, some 170ps models and then later in the year lots of Automatic SWB models. On the Toyota Proace the news is not so good as we have 30 on order but no sign of these just yet.
We have seen a surge in demand for the Japanese campervans partly because of price (£20k to £30k) but also because the older petrol imports are not subject to “some” of the new clear air zone rules that are been introduced. With this in mind we are soon to be offering the Nissan Serena with full side conversion (late Feb) and also the Honda Stepwagon with a side conversion and the Toyota Alphard will get a revised conversion later in the year.
Regarding electric campervans although the Toyota Proace, Vauxhall Vivaro & Fiat Scudo are available to us we just think at the moment the prices are too expensive (Around £75k including government grant) and the range is not long enough (130 winter and 160 summer) However we will offer the quirky little DFSK which will be £45k so for someone that wants a basic little electric camper this is a great option.
