By their own admission, the Griffiths family is one that lives for camping and the outdoors. They don’t do the traditional beach holiday, whether that’s Blackpool or Benidorm.
They have always enjoyed the fun of camping and their adventures have helped bond the family together on many adventures.
“For years did the tenting thing, but were always envious of the motorhome and campervan scene. Financially, it was always just out of reach. However, after some saving we were finally in the position to make the upgrade to motorised camping!
“Given the cost, the experience took well over a year before we finally purchased. It was spent working out what we could afford, what would work for us as a family and the type of camping experience we wanted. The traditional motorhome seemed the obvious choice, but we discounted it. The reasons included where we would store it, irregular usage (no daily use capability) and, more importantly, missing that little bit of adventure and family input. It was for these reasons that we opted for a campervan and began the search.
“We knew a campervan would provide the usability both as a daily drive and fun camper combined into one. Coming from a military background the benefits of a campervan would prove gold dust when being required to attend courses and meetings in various locations notwithstanding the odd merry function that would require an overnight stay!”
“There are many campervan conversion firms out there and many types of camper, but we wanted something different from the usual VW that most people opt for. Through our research, we finally arrived at the Wellhouse Leisure homepage. It instantly drew our attention with the wealth of information, owner gallery and the promise to deliver something special that suited our needs perfectly.
Three key points became the deciding factors:
“Wellhouse offered us the chance to take a factory tour and meet the team who would be building our dream campervan – something no other conversion company were prepared to provide.
“Meeting the team in person absolutely made our minds up that we had found the right company to deliver our dream – and deliver they did! As a Forces family it should be noted that we were based in Northern Germany at the time. The majority of dealings with David and the Wellhouse team were conducted by numerous emails and telephone calls. This was followed by a trip to the UK for a factory visit – which made the trip an adventure in itself!”
“We have been on many adventures in particular around Europe. As we were a Forces family based in Germany, it was the perfect opportunity to travel throughout Europe. It allowed us to have a great many camping and cultural experiences.
“We have since returned to the UK and have already been on several adventures with lots more to follow! The campervan has returned to Wellhouse HQ on several occasions for upgrades, servicing and habitation checks; we would not wish to go anywhere else!”
“Having recently retired from the Forces, it has brought about the decision to work part time, with a view to early retirement. This is in order to enjoy life and hopefully spend more quality time as a family. However, it might just be us two oldies travelling and exploring in our Wellhouse conversion. For us, quality of life, fun and adventures far outweigh living in the fast lane. It’s good to say that we are out of the rat race and definitely settling into van life!”
