Pippa Harrison

We bought our Wellhouse campervan in 2016. After a couple of weekends in England at Clumber Park, where we embarrassed ourselves with very basic newbie questions to other campers and Thetford Forest, to watch Simply Red and take a Segway through the trees, my daughter, dog and I ventured into Europe. We were intending to remain abroad so loaded the van with more than you would ordinarily take for a holiday, school books and equipment, important documents, clothes for all seasons etc. Literally the whole of the van was filled, floor to ceiling. We bought a pop up tent and threw everything into that whenever we stopped for any length of time. I planned 2 stops at campsites but decided to embrace the adventure and go with the flow. I think my teenage daughter learned a lot from being my co-pilot, using maps and apps and google to navigate traffic, find places of interest and good stop over points. We’ve recently looked over our photographs of the 2 years recalling all that we have done and seen. It’s only now we can really appreciate how fortunate we were to spend this time together exploring the world. Precious memories were built canoeing down the Dordogne, swimming in pink salt lakes, walking the Cinque Terre, visiting Dachau, taking a moped through the back streets of Lisbon, driving the Grossglockner Pass, watching the Spanish Easter parades in Cordoba, having Turkish massages, taking a tour of the Pagani car factory, zip wiring through the Alps, buying THE most expensive bottle of balsamic vinegar and climbing sand dunes watching kite surfers and the sun set in blissful tranquility to name but a few.
