“The van has been a particular life-saver over the past year during the Covid pandemic,” he said. “The possibility to get away from the city and spend a few nights in our own bed, kitchen and dining room out in the open and at a reasonable distance to other campers has made us feel so privileged.
“We have managed to get to Maastricht in the Netherlands and to several campsites in northern Luxembourg. We have not been back to the UK for a while, but we hope to soon,” admitted Per, who is hoping to make the 50th reunion of his graduation this year.
“If Covid and the vaccine allow it, I should be back in the UK in June for the 50-year reunion of my graduation from the United World College of the Atlantic on the Bristol Channel near Bridgend. When I’m there we will probably do some nice camping in the Brecon Beacons, which is always great.
“We love England and spent Christmas 2019 (before the pandemic) visiting our son in Staines upon Thames and camping four nights behind their house. He’s now moved to Slovenia where he and his wife bought a house on a hillside on the border to Croatia. We are very much looking forward to camping there this year.”
“We have not been on any long exotic travels in it since I picked my campervan up in November 2018, but we have been back and forth between Luxembourg and Denmark many times, and we have spent nights and extended weekends in the van to the extent of 20-30 nights per year.
“The quality of the van is great and the heating is impeccable – and since it runs on diesel we didn’t worry about heating the inside even with the roof up. We are extremely happy with the van. It has been a life-saver for us.”
