We’ve had our Wellhouse Ford Terrier for just over two years. It was purchased from our local Ford dealer, Hills of Kidderminster. That’s why she is known to us as Hilary (or Hils for short!). She had been their demonstrator.

We had been considering the purchase of a campervan for some time and as a long time Ford owner I was delighted to find one based on the Ford Transit Custom. We were looking for a vehicle that we could use to holiday and when we go orienteering or cycling but would still be a practical day to day transport option, would not limit our destinations through size and ferry costs and could be garaged at home without getting in the way. We were also looking for some comfort as we age after camping under canvas for many years.

Although not directly involved in our purchase, Wellhouse have provided excellent after-sales service in correcting minor niggles. They are my first point of call when I need something done to the van, which has included fitting a cycle rack and the Gaslow and external BBQ point.

Hilary has been used to follow the Tour de France, to take my brother to visit family war graves on the Somme and an epic 3 week road trip through France and Switzerland to the Italian Lakes. We have used her for short breaks of up to a week and multiple weekend orienteering trips around the UK, with the heater meaning we can get warm even when there is snow and frost on the ground outside. We have used the van from March to November.

We are looking forward to our main holiday this year in Northern Spain, as well as attending the Wellhouse Adventures Group rallies, and many more adventures with Hilary in the years to come.
