Kirsty & Steve Rawson live on a farm just outside Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire from where we run three holiday cottages (www.lettochcottages.com).
“We have a general love of the outdoors, the hills and the wild land of Scotland and have had a hankering for a campervan and the freedom that represents for a number of years”.
Wellhouse came to our attention having watched Cameron McNeish wax lyrical about his converted Hyundai on the TV over Christmas. This sparked our enthusiasm so we decided to hire a Wellhouse converted campervan (a Toyota Granvia) from the excellent ‘Big Tree Campervans’ just south of us on the outskirts of Perth. We loved it, so much so that we had to have one!
Wellhouse had three ‘second hand’ Toyota’s available in April (2016) so I headed down to pick the best of them. To us, it just made perfect sense to choose a Granvia over a VW. The Granvia gave us everything a VW camper would give us (same size, same equipment) but at a much much better price and with the famed Toyota reliability. And the condition of the imported Toyota’s from Japan belies their age. You have to see the immaculate condition of these vehicles to believe it! Ours is 18 years old, with a 6 year old camper conversion and it looks and feels like a 2-3 year old vehicle.
So we have our beautiful Campervan and are now establishing our hire business (https://www.facebook.com/killiecrankiecampervans). We’re just hoping that it doesn’t become so successful we struggle to get to use it ourselves. Our first trip in it, to the Outer Hebrides, was just remarkable.
Our conversions have become synonymous with modern design and outstanding build quality. Here at Wellhouse Leisure we have a simple philosophy – provide our customers with a better standard of service and value for money than anyone else.
As well as conversions, we also work on behalf of numerous industry-leading brands, including Ford, Toyota, Nissan and Honda
